Lisa Harvey with her 5th place finish has once again qualified to represent Canada and the Spartans at the Americas Cross Country Championships (formerly the NACAC Cross Country Championships) March 6, 2010 in Trinidad & Tobago. In order for the Canadians to qualify for the IAAF World Cross country Championships which are being held in Bydqoszcz, Poland the team must first finish in the top 2 among the competing NACAC countries at the Americas Championships.

Since the first NACAC Cross Country Championships began in 2006 the Canadian Senior Women’s Team have won it twice (2007 & 2008) and finished second twice (2006 & 2009).

If Lisa and the rest of the Canadian Senior Women’s team can continue this trend then this will be Lisa’s Unbelievable 11th World Cross Country Championships Team dating back to 1989. Lisa best results at World Cross Country as a Junior was 6th place and as a Senior 32nd place.

Congratulations Lisa Harvey on an amazing running career that has spanned now over 20 amazing years!!!
