Club Membership:

The Club membership year is October 1 to September 30. Members can register as of September 15 for the upcoming membership year. Club membership is available for the following types of membership:
  • Active membership
  • Associate memberships
    • Junior Development (JD) Associate membership
    • Alumni Associate membership
    • Summer Monthly Associate membership
The Alumni Associate membership is open to athletes with a minimum of 5 years of Club membership. Junior Development (Active and Associate) athletes have to be born in 1999 or earlier to register. The registration fee consists of:
  • The Club membership fee
  • The oval fee (*, **)
  • The age-dependent annual Athletics AB fee
*Varsity athletes at U of C do not have to pay the oval fee.

Club Programs:

The year is divided into 2 seasons: Indoor runs from October 1 to March 30, Outdoor runs from April 1 to September 30. The Club runs three programs during the year:

Full Year program:
  • Runs from October 1 to September 30 (indoor and outdoor seasons
  • Registration is open from September 15 to February 28
  • Fees must include Club membership fee, oval fee and Athletics AB fee
Outdoor program:
  • Runs from April 1 to September 30 (outdoor season only)
  • Fees must include Club membership fee and Athletics AB fee
Summer Monthly:
  • Runs during April, May, June, July and August
  • Fees must include Club membership fee and Athletics AB fee

Club membership fee:

Active membership
$200 Active athletes
Associate memberships (NO bingo and casino volunteer requirements)
$600 Junior Development (JD) Associate athletes
$800 Associate athletes (Youth, Junior, Senior, Master)
$300 Alumni Associate athletes
$90/month Summer Monthly Associate athletes
*All membership fees include a uniform.

Oval fee

$200 for Junior Development (JD) athletes
$400 for all other athletes

Please note: The above Oval Fees are those charged by U of C Athletics in 2009-2010. They are subject to change for 2010-2011.

Athletics AB fee

Athletics AB fees cover up to 15 months, starting October 1 of the current year for the period ending December 31 of the following year. The age category appropriate fees (see below) will be automatically added to the registration fees and remitted to Athletics AB on behalf of the athlete.
  • Peewee: born in 2000 - fee $50
  • Bantam: 98-99 - $50
  • Midget: 96-97 - $75
  • Youth: 94-95 - $75
  • Junior: 92-93 - $95
  • Senior: 91-77 - $95
  • Master: 76 and earlier - $75

Commitments and Obligations:

  • All Active Members must pay a one time Volunteer Commitment Deposit (one per family) as a guarantee they will fulfill their volunteer duties. The deposit amount is $150 for Junior Development athletes and $300 for all other athletes. The deposit is carried forward from year to year as long as an athlete remains in good standing with the Club.
  • All Active and Associate Members must serve as officials or volunteers at approximately three local track meets annually.
  • All Active Members must work their assigned bingo and casino shifts.
  • Athletes who cannot work their assigned bingo must arrange to trade with another athlete or to send a representative in their place.
  • Failure to appear at bingo results in a fine of between $150 and $200 to the Club, which will be passed on to the athlete.
  • Athletes who fail to work their scheduled bingos, casinos, or track meets forfeit their deposit. Membership and registration privileges will be suspended until the deposit is repaid.

Bingo and Casino volunteer requirements:

  • JD Active athletes: The volunteer requirement is 2 bingos per season (4 bingos for the Full Year program) and one casino depending on the scheduled casino date.
  • All other Active athletes: The volunteer requirement is 6 bingos per season (12 bingos for the Full Year program) and one casino depending on the scheduled casino date.
  • Associate athletes: No bingo and casino volunteer requirement.

Athletes’ contributions:

  • All Active athletes including JD’s are subject to athletes’ contributions.
  • JD Active athletes: the Club membership includes training, local competition and local entry fees, and entry fees for one out-of-town meet per season. The athletes’ contribution is 50% of all entry fees.
  • All other Active athletes: the Club membership includes training, competition, travel & accommodation and all entry fees. The athletes’ contribution is 50% of all entry fees and travel & accommodation costs.
  • Masters athletes: a cap of a combined total of $1,500 per year for Cdn or US, indoor or outdoor championships, is in place.
  • All Associate athletes, including Summer Monthly Associate, JD Associate and Alumni Associate, have training privileges only.
