The Spartans program is based on recommendations made by the Athletics Canada Run Jump Throw Wheel program and is designed to teach fundamental movement skills and development of physical literacy. Running, jumping and throwing is the basis for virtually all sports. Our instructors offer great individual coaching in small groups, focused on improving and enhancing athletes’ individual skills and abilities.
Twice a year, at the beginning of the spring/summer season and again at the beginning of the fall/winter season, the Spartans hold a Mini-Camp for 9 – 13 year old athletes. The camp is about two hours long and is designed to be a fun introduction to athletics – running, jumping and throwing.
CANCELLED: The summer camp is a five-day camp held in July for 9 – 13 year old athletes. It includes techniques and skills in athletics – running, jumping, and throwing. It is held outside at the track and led by coaches and athletes from the Spartans. The program is designed by Jessica Zelinka – Canada’s own two-time Olympian and current Head Coach of the University of Calgary Dinos Track and Field and Cross Country Teams.
It is designed to be fun, while still motivating young athletes to challenge themselves in the sport of Athletics.
