Geared to athletes up to age 13, the program is focused on building a foundation based on technique and skills while keeping it fun.
The Spartans Sprint and Hurdles Program is for athletes interested in running sprints, hurdles and relays. Events include the 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, 80m and 400m hurdles as well as 4 x 100m relay, 4 x 200m relay and 4 x 400m relay.
The Spartans Middle and Long Distance Program is for athletes interested in middle and long distance running. Includes the 800 m, 1200m, 1500m, 3000m, 5000m, 10,000m and steeplechase on the track, as well as cross-country, marathon, and the running portion (only) of the triathlon.
Events include long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin, shot put, discus, hammer and weight throw. Training also supports athletes who are interested in the pentathlon, heptathlon and decathlon.

We offer a free two-week trial where you are welcome to join Spartans track team practices before committing to club membership. This is an opportunity for you to meet with Spartans athletes and coaches and to get to know our training programs before making the registration commitment.
Our coaches offer great individual coaching in small groups, focused on improving and enhancing athletes’ individual skills and abilities. The Spartans program is based on recommendations made by the Athletics Canada Run Jump Throw Wheel program and is designed to teach fundamental movement skills and development of physical literacy. It’s designed to be fun – while motivating young athletes to challenge themselves in the sport of Athletics.
